The Portchester Practice is happy to partner with Healthier Together- An app that helps support parents and children from when they are conceived to 18 years hold. The below statement is direct from the Healthier Together website.

It can be extremely stressful when you or your child is unwell. We know that there is a huge amount of information available at your fingertips, but finding something that provides clear and accurate information is not always easy!

The resources on the Healthier Together website have been developed in partnership between parents and healthcare professionals from across Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. You’ll find clear information on common  illnesses, including advice on what serious ‘red-flag’ signs to look out for, where to seek help if required, what you should do to keep comfortable and how long symptoms are likely to last.

Most importantly, the resources are used not only by parents but also by healthcare professionals. This means that you will receive consistently high quality care, irrespective of which healthcare provider you take them to see as their advice is likely to mirror that on the Healthier Together website. Reducing unnecessary variation between professionals improves the overall quality of care and reduces the anxiety that inconsistent advice can generate.

You can find the Healthier Together website here: Home :: Healthier Together (what0-18.nhs.uk)

The Healthier Together team also have an App! Below is a statement from Healthier together about their App.

The NHS Healthier Together app has been designed to allow you to access care for your child much more easily. If your child is unwell and needs to be seen by a healthcare professional, instead of having to call your GP surgery, your surgery may offer you the option to use the app to directly inform them about your child’s symptoms. They will then contact you to decide what needs to be done. And if you are seeking help when your GP surgery is shut, it will direct you to NHS 111. Lots of other parents have already downloaded it and have found it extremely useful.

In addition, if you are pregnant and live in Southampton, Hampshire, Portsmouth or the Isle of Wight, from the 28th November 2022 you can simply download the Healthier Together app and create your pregnancy profile. If you have a worry, then click the appropriate information page to help you assess your symptoms. You will be directed to the right health professional at the right time- or be given advice about managing at home saving you a trip to the hospital. And once you have your baby, you can create a profile for your child!
